KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are advising the motoring public that the westbound lane of the Mandela Highway, heading towards Spanish Town and Portmore, which was previously blocked due to a shooting incident, has now been reopened.The westbound lane was cordoned off following a shooting incident on Friday where one man was killed and another injured.The incident reportedly occurred around 7:15 am when a Ford Transit motor truck was travelling westbound along the Mandela Highway and reached the intersection with Caymanas.

The police said the driver came to a stop shortly after, when two men on a motorcycle rode up alongside the right side of the vehicle and opened fire through the right front window and windshield.Two occupants were struck by bullets and rushed to hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other admitted for treatment.READ: One dead, another injured in Mandela Highway shooting
