Man dies after being struck by car in Mandeville

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A man succumbed to injuries he sustained after he was struck by a motorcar on Grove Road in Mandeville on Friday night.The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Valentine Gentles.Police report that about 6:55 pm, Gentles was walking along Grove Road when he reportedly stepped into the path of a Toyota Premio motor car.He was struck by the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.He was subsequently pronounced dead at hospital.Police in Manchester have raised concerns over recent fatal crashes involving a number of pedestrians since February and are urging pedestrians and motorists to exercise caution while using the parish’s roads.— Kasey Williams
