Major car brands recall 830,000 vehicles for issues including rare fire risk - Ford, Kia and more

Motorists are being warned of new vehicle recalls for popular models over concerns that faults could lead to serious injuries or even fires.Some of the most popular automakers in the world have issued recalls for hundreds of thousands of vehicles over the last month.GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say FordAlmost 550,000 vehicles are being recalled by the Blue Oval, according to fresh documents listed with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).Certain 2018-2024 Expedition vehicles are being recalled as the chrome plating on the centre console may bubble and peel, which can result in sharp edges.The NHTSA has warned that vehicle occupants may contact the centre console, increasing the risk of an injury.To remedy the issue, dealers will inspect the centre consoles as necessary and replace them if there is an issue. This could fail to restrain an occupant in an accident, dramatically increasing the risk of an injury.Documents state: The driver seat belt emergency locking retractor may lock, causing the seat belt strap not to extend.
