KFC signs Reggae Boyz captain Andre Blake for World Cup campaign

KINGSTON, Jamaica — KFC Jamaica has signed Reggae Boyz captain and goalkeeper Andre Blake as the face of its 2026 Summer World Cup campaign.The partnership will also see KFC supporting outreach activities through Blake’s foundation, extending the arrangement beyond advertising into youth development, empowerment and community work.Blake joins a list of Jamaican athletes previously featured in KFC campaigns, including Leon Bailey, Khadija “Bunny” Shaw and Jaydon Hibbert.Andrei Roper, marketing manager at KFC Jamaica, said Blake was selected because of his leadership, consistency and connection to Jamaica.“Andre Blake is a true reflection of excellence, discipline and national pride. He has represented Jamaica with distinction, carried himself with humility and professionalism, and consistently shown what it means to lead at the highest level,” Roper said.“For KFC, this partnership is about more than working with a great athlete. It is about aligning with someone whose values, work ethic and impact reflect the very best of what our brand stands for,” he added.Blake said the partnership gives him another way to connect with Jamaicans beyond football.“KFC is a brand that has always been part of my household and a big part of Jamaican culture, so I’m excited to be on board,” Blake said.“Throughout my career, representing Jamaica has always meant a lot to me, whether it’s wearing the national colours, playing professionally, or supporting others through my foundation. This partnership with KFC gives me another opportunity to connect with fans and continue making a positive impact across Jamaica.”Blake has been one of the most prominent figures in Jamaica’s national football programme, having represented the country in several major regional and international competitions. He has made six Concacaf Gold Cup appearances and helped Jamaica reach the finals in 2015 and 2017. In 2017, he won the tournament’s Golden Glove award.At club level, Blake plays for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer. He was the first goalkeeper selected as the number one overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft and has won multiple MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honours.The partnership comes as brands move to position themselves around football and national pride ahead of the 2026 World Cup cycle.KFC said Blake’s role in the campaign will build on the company’s history of using Jamaican sporting figures in major brand moments.
