Keir Starmer’s veiled attack at US following JD Vance’s fierce response to UK student’s murder

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made a veiled attack on the White House for interfering in his country’s democracy. US Vice President JD Vance is the latest high-profile Republican to criticise Downing Street over the death of 18-year-old teenager Henry Nowak. Vice President Vance described the teen’s stabbing as “enraging”, arguing he would still be alive if the UK stood its ground on the politics of self-hatred and mass migration. In response, Mr Starmer’s office released a statement without specifically naming the US Vice President. It read: “In recent days, we have seen people trying to interfere in our democracy and seeking to stir up division on our streets. “The Nowak family are grieving after Henry’s horrific murder. They have said they do not want his death to be used to create further division, hatred, or tension. We should be respecting their wishes. “Our politics should bring people together even in the most terrible of circumstances. That is who we are as a country.”
