An Irish farmer has slammed the “sickening” treatment of demonstrators who have flocked to launch a nationwide protest of soaring diesel and petrol prices.Simon Dunn was among the farmers and hauliers taking to the streets of Dublin in demanding the Government hear the concerns of “honest hardworking people”.“They just ignored us It's sickening the way they treated us,” the impassioned farmer said.Expressing his frustration, Mr Dunn exclaimed: “I think they think that food grows on supermarket shelves!” Ireland has been brought to a near standstill by the protests which have erupted over the past few days, with demonstrators mounting rolling blockades on major roads and at critical infrastructure in anger over a lack of support amid the cost-of-living crisis.
