Iranian drone and missile attacks across the Gulf have intensified, with Kuwait suffering the heaviest strikes in the past 24 hours. The country's electricity and water ministry confirmed that two power generation and water desalination plants were hit, causing "significant material damage" and the shutdown of two generation units. Given that 90% of Kuwait's drinking water comes from desalination, the strikes pose a critical threat to the nation's water supply.
The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation headquarters in the Shuwaikh area was also struck, triggering a fire, while the Ministry of Finance confirmed the Ministries Complex in the capital sustained material damage. In the UAE, authorities reported fires at the Borouge petrochemicals plant in Ruwais Industrial City after debris from an intercepted Iranian missile fell on the site, forcing an immediate suspension of operations. Bahrain's Bapco Energies announced that a drone attack caused a fire at one of its storage facilities, which has since been fully extinguished. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense reported intercepting a cruise missile in the last few hours. Al Jazeera's Malik Traina reports from Kuwait City.
