India-Czech Talks Focus On Trade, Investment Cooperation New Delhi, Apr 24 (KNN) Union Minister of State for Commerce Industry Jitin Prasada concluded his official visit to the Czech Republic from April 22–23, 2026, aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment ties. During the visit, the Minister co-chaired the 13th session of the India–Czech Republic Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC) in Prague alongside Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Sechter.
Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral economic engagement and identified new opportunities for collaboration across priority and emerging sectors. The protocol of the 13th JCEC meeting was also signed. The Minister held meetings with senior Czech leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, focusing on advancing industrial partnerships and enhancing trade linkages. On the sidelines, Jitin Prasada inaugurated the India–Czech Business Forum and engaged with industry representatives to promote business-to-business collaboration and investment opportunities. As part of his engagements, he visited key industrial and research institutions, including Škoda Transportation in Plzeň, and interacted with representatives of Škoda Auto to encourage greater investment in India’s automotive sector. The Minister also toured leading research centres such as the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics and the ELI Beamlines, exploring avenues for cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced laser technologies. The visit reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen economic engagement, foster innovation partnerships, and build resilient industrial collaborations. (KNN Bureau)
