The ICT Authority commemorated its first anniversary since transitioning from eGov Jamaica Limited with a media launch earlier this month, on April 10. The event highlighted a year of transformation and introduced a major step forward in Jamaica’s digital government agenda with the Jamaica Data Exchange Platform (JDXP). The keynote address was delivered by Minister of Efficiency, Innovation and Digital Transformation Audrey Marks, who underscored the Government’s commitment to building a more connected, efficient and citizen-centric public sector.

The JDXP is a national interoperability platform designed to enable seamless communication and data sharing across government entities by reducing duplication, minimising long wait times, and addressing fragmented systems. The platform represents a significant advancement in improving service delivery to Jamaicans. “The JDXP represents a simple but powerful shift from data silos to data sharing, from fragmented systems to an integrated government, from slow manual processes to real-time seamless services,” Minister Marks stated. “It will transform how ministries, departments, and agencies collaborate, ultimately improving the experience for every citizen.” Chief Information Officer, Anika Shuttleworth iterated the importance of this milestone within the Authority’s broader transformation agenda. “Digital transformation is no longer optional; it is essential to national resilience and service delivery. Platforms like the Jamaica Data Exchange Platform will allow government entities to communicate seamlessly, reducing duplication and improving the experience for every citizen,” she said. The event also featured the official unveiling of the ICT Authority commemorative plaque symbolising the Authority’s evolution and its renewed mandate to drive digital transformation across Jamaica’s public sector. Over the past year, the ICT Authority has focused on strengthening governance, advancing digital infrastructure and fostering innovation within government. The launch of the JDXP marks a pivotal milestone in its mission to create a more integrated and efficient digital ecosystem. As the Authority enters its second year, it remains committed to delivering technology-driven solutions that enhance public service efficiency, promote transparency and improve the quality of life for all Jamaicans.
