Abbas Akhoundi, Iran’s former minister for roads and urban development, says “hooligans living in the White House” are “destroying” Iran’s infrastructure. Akhoundi lambasted the war, saying that he knows how “difficult” it is to build the infrastructure. Speaking to Al Jazeera, he criticised Israel’s warning that people should stay away from trains and railway stations, saying that targeting these infrastructures “is an obvious war crime”.

He disputed the Israeli claim that buildings hit in recent strikes, including educational institutions and key facilities, were IRGC targets.
