Hakeem Jeffries, House Democrats press conference after House vote rejects DHS funding bill

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and his fellow Democratic leaders held a press conference on March 27 after Republicans in the House of Representatives revolted at the eleventh hour against a deal to end the six-week-long Department of Homeland Security shutdown. The Senate earlier voted unanimously to approve a compromise that would fund most of the DHS – except for Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
