Guthrie family first thought missing matriarch ‘walked away,’ sheriff says

New details have emerged in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, with a sergeant from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department saying that the family initially believed the missing matriarch might have simply “walked away” from her Tucson-area home before investigators concluded the case likely involved an abduction.
