I don’t know if that’s true but it wouldn’t surprise me. Apparently, they’re actually trying to go through with it: The Trump administration is asking Congress for 152 million to transform Alcatraz into a “state-of-the-art secure prison facility,” as part of its 2027 budget proposal.
