Ghana’s consumer economy is stirring back to life. But it is doing so gingerly. Fresh data from Maverick Research, which tracks over 15,000 products across 60 consumer categories nationwide, shows that the country’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector grew by 15 in value and 6 in volume in the first quarter of 2026 . On the face of it, that looks like a solid rebound.

In reality, it reflects a more tentative recovery: prices are doing much of the heavy lifting, while demand is only slowly returning.
