You can switch your broadband service for a fiver. GiffGaff has just slashed the prices across its broadband packages to just £5 for the first six months of a 24-month contract. This includes its 200Mbps plan — normally £25 per month, its 500Mbps — normally £28 per month, and 900 Mbps — normally £32 per month. Giffgaff CEO Kate Dohaney told ISPreview: “At a time when prices notoriously inflate for the summer months, and costs rack up, we’re offering greater value to our members with broadband for just £5 a month and no price hikes to our members’ contracts for the remainder of their term. This reflects our commitment to fairness, ensuring people have clarity and confidence over their bills.” For comparison, BT is offering a 500Mbps package for £33.99 and a 900Mbps deal for £36.99. On the other hand, Sky is offering its 150Mbps plan for £23 per month and its 900Mbps for £30 per month in what the company says are its lowest prices ever. If you were to select Sky's cheapest plan for £23, you'd be paying £138, whereas a plan with Giffgaff will give you the power to choose between different speeds and pay only £30 for the first six months.
