He shared bread with Judas, and in that culture, sharing bread meant closeness and loyalty. It was an offer of extravagant grace from Jesus right up until the end. So that tells us something profound. Jesus's love is not based on our consistency. He knows our mixed motives and the way we mess up. And still he invites us to the table.
