Finland sees €250m trade surplus in March

The trade balance was in surplus of EUR 250 million in March 2026, according to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods released by Finnish Customs on Friday. Calculated from the beginning of the year, the value of exports to EU countries grew by 3.2 per cent and to non-EU countries by 8.0 per cent. The volume of exports to EU member states decreased by 0.5 per cent, but the volume of exports to non-EU countries increased by 3.0 per cent calculated according to the year-over-year change of the aggregated average of export volume. The volume of imports from EU member states increased by 5.6 per cent and from non-EU countries by 5.5 per cent year-over-year. The volume of imports from EU member states increased by 3.9 per cent and from non-EU countries by 9.9 per cent calculated according to the year-over-year change of the aggregated average of import volume. Bulgaria joined the euro area in January 2026. Starting from the January 2026 preliminary statistics, Bulgaria has been added to the country group euro zone retroactively.
