EU agrees on new sanctions targeting illegal Israeli settlers

European Union foreign ministers have agreed to impose sanctions on some of the most extreme illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank as well as some Hamas figures. The green light on Monday breaks months of political deadlock over such a move. Hitting back, Israel has criticised the bloc’s announcement calling it 'unacceptable and outrageous'.
