EESL Charts Out Energy Efficiency Roadmap For MSMEs In Andhra Pradesh

Targeting MSMEs for Decarbonisation Officials told TNN that the plan positions Andhra Pradesh as a key contributor to India’s industrial decarbonisation efforts, with a focus on transforming MSMEs—traditionally energy- and carbon-intensive—into more sustainable and competitive enterprises. It builds on EESL’s flagship programmes such as UJALA, the Street Lighting National Programme, distributed solar solutions and smart metering. EESL, now acting as a national implementation agency, aims to support MSMEs in transitioning to low-carbon operations through both domestic programmes and international collaborations. Collaboration with State Government Successful implementation will depend on close coordination with the state government to identify industrial clusters, mobilise stakeholders and integrate the initiative with regional development strategies. EESL CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit said, This initiative marks a paradigm shift—from isolated interventions to a comprehensive MSME enablement model. State Industries Secretary N.
