Yesterday I posted a story from the U.S. Geological Survey about their study of subsnow microclimates and how pygmy bunnies are affected by climate change. First, I’m glad we all agreed that saying that pygmy bunnies lack charisma was Rude and Not Nice, and then Brian C. posted a link in the comments to another article about efforts to help the pgymy bunny population! The article is from 2022 and details efforts to vaccinate endangered pgymy bunnies in Washington state against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus, sometimes called bunny ebola, which has an 80-90 fatality rate within days of infection.

It’s a super interesting read, but the best part is it comes with pictures! The pics I’m including here show the human-to-bunny scale, so you can see how tiny they really are.
