The cruise ship MV Hondias remains stranded off the coast of Cape Verde with 147 passengers on board after suspected cases of Hantavirus resulted in three deaths and several serious illnesses. The Dutch vessel, which departed Argentina in March on an Antarctic expedition, has been barred from docking as authorities prepare isolation facilities ashore.

The World Health Organisation believes the infection was likely contracted during land activities in Argentina and may have spread between close contacts on board, though human-to-human transmission remains rare. Plans to evacuate critically ill crew members to the Canary Islands await Spanish approval. Al Jazeera's Charlie Angela reports.
