In Qinzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, there is a 240-meter-long wildlife passage bridge over the Pinglu Canal. The country's first animal passage bridge to be built across a canal, the structure is meant to ease passage for "pedestrians" such as leopard cats, spotted linsang and red-bellied tree squirrels. Workers will also plant various native plants and install shelters and water sources to ensure the animals can cross with confidence.
