German tennis icon Boris Becker has ruled out a return to coaching although he said he has received offers from players, reported dpa. Becker told reporters around the Laureus Sports Awards set for April 20 that he has had a wonderful time but my time as a coach is over. Ive had a new addition to the family – it all takes up a lot of time, and I simply have other career plans for my life, said Becker, who is a member of the Laureus Academy.

Becker, 58, has coached 24-time grand slam winner Novak Djokovic and Denmark's Holger Rune. He was also Head of Men's Tennis at the German Tennis Federation. I don't want to give any names but I have often been asked whether I wanted to return to the tennis business but I declined, Becker said. I have different career goals – Im much more involved in the media sector. I wouldnt be able to do that if I were to go back to working full-time as a coach. But the three-time Wimbledon champion and former world number one said he was still ready to give advice, if required. Ive always said that Im open to phone calls if any of the lads want to get in touch – and perhaps they have. I always share my views with them. But: firstly, without anyone knowing about it. And secondly, without me returning to the training ground,” he said.
