Australia has pledged to support reopening the Strait of Hormuz by military force

Australia will take part in additional talks next week to discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz by military force. Diplomatic options were discussed yesterday when the UK hosted a video conference with more than 40 nations, including Australia. During the meeting, Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong pledged Australia's support. A shipping container from France has since been able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, in a move which signals that Iran may not consider it a hostile nation.
