Finnish engineering and manufacturing company Valmet on Tuesday announced it will start codetermination negotiations with the view to go for temporary layoffs affecting 2,400 employees in Finland, said the company in a press release. The statutory change negotiations will start on May 4 and take place in different sectors including packaging materials and paper, pulp, energy and circular economy operations as a part of its austerity measures to save about 8 million euros in 2026.
